Elecnor awarded new 12 million dollar electricity project in Chile

Tendrá una duración de 28 meses con una fecha de finalización prevista para el año 2021

The Spanish infrastructure, renewable energy and telecommunications group Elecnor, has been awarded a project for the construction of a new electricity substation in Antofagasta (Chile) for the SAESA Group. The contract is worth USD 12 million.

The SAESA Group is a Chilean power generation, transmission and distribution company that forms part of Empresas Eléctricas A.G. The scope of the contract won by Elecnor includes a new electricity substation in Antofagasta and the construction and sectioning of the Mejillones-Antofagasta-Esmeralda-La Portada line.

The awarded project will last a total of 28 months, with a completion date set for the 2021 financial year. This contract consolidates Elecnor’s position in Chile, where it has a growing portfolio of projects driven by qualified staff, having successfully faced the challenges of energy development in the country.

Operating in Chile since the 80s, Elecnor has played a crucial role in energy development in the country, generating and transmitting power, developing non-conventional renewable energy (NCRE) and applying energy savings from their facilities.
