Elecnor promotes energy storage in Spain through a strategic alliance for BESS projects
Elecnor strengthens its leadership in energy storage through a strategic alliance with Gotion and Battman
Elecnor has formalised a strategic agreement with the technology manufacturer Gotion and development firm Battman, a milestone that reinforces its position as a key player in the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) sector in Spain. This alliance was created with the aim of responding to the growing complexity of the national electricity system, offering a comprehensive solution that guarantees the technical solvency and bankability of renewable projects.
In a context where renewable energy penetration exceeds 50% and the market demands grid management solutions that go beyond mere generation, Elecnor is committed to this agreement to mitigate the current fragmentation of the sector. Through this collaboration, Elecnor is positioning itself as the main interlocutor capable of integrating cutting-edge technology, high-level engineering and territorial management under a single execution framework.
From "Complement" to "Bespoke Infrastructure"
The differential value of this alliance lies in its approach: to stop treating storage as a simple accessory to renewable plants and turn it into long-term bespoke infrastructure.
Thanks to its experience in Plant Engineering and Balance of Plant (BOP), Elecnor will bring to this partnership its ability to perform real "Value Engineering". This allows for the optimisation of initial CAPEX and improvement of LCOE (Levelised Cost of Energy) for its customers, ensuring that each project is not only technically viable, but also financially robust against market price volatility.
Technical Solvency and Guarantee of Execution
The signing of this memorandum allows Elecnor to offer utilities and large developers a "packaged" solution that eliminates risks. By integrating the technological excellence and permitting intelligence of its partners with Elecnor's execution capabilities, the company guarantees compliance with strict network codes (NTS 2.1) and connection deadlines, critical factors for asset profitability.
"This alliance is a direct response to the needs of the Iberian market. Our customers are not just looking for batteries; they are looking for security of supply, compliance with deadlines and optimised operation. With this agreement, Elecnor reinforces its commitment to providing added value, transforming technical complexity into profitable and secure assets," company sources highlight.
Elecnor is thus moving towards an energy model where renewable generation and storage operate in an integrated manner, guaranteeing stability, efficiency and security for the Spanish electricity system.
