IE and Elecnor launch new Observatory on Sustainable Compliance Cultures website

At the end of 2019 the IE Foundation and the Elecnor Foundation decided to join forces to create the IE-Elecnor Observatory on Sustainable Compliance Cultures

At the end of 2019, the IE Foundation and the Elecnor Foundation decided to join forces to create the IE-Elecnor Observatory on Sustainable Compliance Cultures: an open platform for expert analysis and promotion of sustainable compliance cultures in companies, with a special focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. To facilitate access to reports, studies and news on this subject, IE and Elecnor have launched a new Compliance Observatory website.

In order to meet the goal of it becoming an international reference in the field of compliance, the Observatory's aim with this new website is to open up access to all its projects to a wider audiences and establish it as an academic and business space for the study and application of the highest standards of compliance.

The new portal contains information on what the Observatory is and the entities and people that are leading it, and various sections devoted especially to research, Knowledge and Awareness. The section on research and knowledge for instance contains small “compliance pills”, with practical recommendations for better management of applicable standards within companies, as well as papers and studies by academic specialists from IE Law School or the Eversheds Sutherland Nicea law firm, who are project partners.

The website also has a space for latest developments with a specific section providing notable news and activities about the Observatory and the members of the project. The Compliance en tiempos de incertidumbre (Compliance in Times of Uncertainty) webinar is available via thislink.

The following are members of the Observatory acting on Elecnor's behalf: Ursula Albizuri Delclaux, Director of Elecnor Group Corporate Development; Jorge Ballester, Director of the Elecnor Foundation; Pedro Enrile, Secretary General and Director of Elecnor's Legal Department; and Gonzalo Sánchez Alber, Elecnor Group Compliance Officer.

For Elecnor and its Foundation, this project is part of their firm commitment to compliance and the fight against corruption. In this regard, in 2018 Elecnor became the first Spanish company in its sector to be certified as compliant with the UNE-ISO 37001 “Anti-bribery Management Systems” standard: the foremost and most stringent international certification standard for compliance and anti-corruption management systems. A year later, its compliance system was also certified as being compliant with the UNE 19601 "Criminal  Compliance Management Systems" standard.
