Elecnor undertakes the repair and adaptation works of the sanitation network in Alaquàs

Urgent action following the damage caused by the DANA to guarantee the municipality's water service and hydraulic infrastructure

Elecnor has begun repair and adaptation works on the sanitation hydraulic infrastructure in the municipality of Alaquàs (Valencia). This important project, with a budget exceeding 4 million euros, is part of the Urban Water Cycle Reconstruction Plan designed to remedy the severe mud clogging, damage to storm drains, and risks of structural collapse detected in the network following the passage of the DANA. 

The work involves a comprehensive intervention on the municipal network. Key actions include the complete renewal of key collectors in Albacete Street (370 m) and Cuenca Street (1,135 m), as well as the reconstruction of the rainwater collection ditch in the Alaquàs-Paiporta Ring Road (420 m) and the adaptation of approximately 1,390 additional meters of pipelines identified in the technical audit. 

During the project, smooth PVC, helical PVC, and reinforced concrete pipes with diameters ranging from 200 mm to 2,000 mm will be installed, which will be protected and enveloped in mass concrete to provide the infrastructure with maximum durability and resistance. The intervention is completed with the construction of 59 prefabricated manholes, over 500 inspection chambers, 118 gullies, and the subsequent restoration of the affected road surface.

To minimize the impact on citizens, Elecnor will guarantee the uninterrupted continuity of the sewerage service during the 24-month execution period by installing temporary bypass pipelines and pumping equipment.
