EDP recognises the Elecnor Group's health and safety excellence
The commitment to the prevention of accidents at work is an absolute priority for the Elecnor Group. So much so that during 2024 we have invested more than 46 million euros in caring for our workforce, with the services of 472 specialised technicians and 93 health professionals.
Although our strategy in terms of occupational risk prevention aims to achieve the final goal of ‘Zero Accidents’, the effort made in 2024 will be focused on the prevention of accidents. the efforts made in 2024 have resulted in a frequency rate of 2.0, the second best result in the Group's history.
As proof of this commitment, the Elecnor Group has been recognised with three outstanding distinctions at the 34th EDP ‘Excellence in Prevention’ Safety Conference held in Santander. The first, ‘Award for Proactivity in Safety 2024’, recognises the Group's dedication to reporting accidents, participating in meetings and proposing improvements within the company. On the other hand, the ‘Excellence in Safety Award 2024’ was presented to Jaime Costales, delegate for Asturias/Cantabria. This award recognises Elecnor's impeccable work during the repair of the electricity supply in the areas affected by the DANA, highlighting the high level of safety in such complicated conditions.
Finally, our operator Miguel Ángel Gómez has been awarded the ‘Special Award for Excellence in Safety 2024’, in recognition of his involvement on site, with a proactivity and commitment that EDP considers ‘remarkable’.
Congratulations to the entire team involved for their commitment and dedication to prevention and occupational safety. This type of recognition reinforces the great work we do at the Elecnor Group to protect our workers and collaborators and to achieve the highest occupational safety standards.
